Hello, peoples of the web
this is our first post hooray! Anyway a bunch of us ''kids'' are getting 6-9 chickens, we have had
ducklings before but never chicks so we are experienced in hatching.
We are really excited and are happy and hope that you will learn something from our experiences which we are going to post regularly in this online journal.
so, feel free to share your thoughts and ideas.

i have no experience raising chickens but have lots of experience cooking eggs. so i can help when the eggs come!

ReplyDeleteBen would like to contribute a very short video of his first chicken adventure when he was two. We were visiting the Vermont Lansbury's in Burlington. Can you upload videos to this blog?
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, our neighbor's kids have raised a few chickens, so we'll ask them for tips. I know one thing from experience: best to keep the chicks away from the dogs.

ReplyDeletewe are thinking about ordering four White Rocks, two White Orpingtons, four Red Stars and two Black Stars. they all sound like nice, gentle, quiet breeds and they are good layers of brown eggs. Please let me know if anyone has had experience with these breeds or has a suggestion for a different breed.
